People are selfish. But I try my best not to be. Granted I have made many mistakes in the past, but never without pain to my conscience. Yet some people have no sense of morality. They scheme, they lie, they do anything to put situations to their advantage. They put on faces to deceive people. They are, essentially, plastic.
And right now, I feel wronged. I feel angry and cheated by someone who was supposed to be my friend. I should have known better than to let her get so close. Life is merely a segment of time. There is a definitive beginning, and ending. So what is really the point of living? Because no matter what one does in the midst of their life, they are still going to die. Money, power, achievements, family, friends, love -- all of which we obtain in life will be meaningless. No matter what effort we put in to get what we want, using our sweat and blood to exchange for "happiness", all will be pointless. Flesh fades into dust, and memories dissipate.
